The problem with the social gospel is that it ends up being all "social" and no "gospel." The social reform that Jesus brings is just a byproduct of one individual being set free from sin, and then another, and another. His and our mission is to transform slaves of Satan into children of God. Now that I've made these provocative statements I'll let Jim back them up.
