God Created Man & Woman

People can invent all the "genders" they like, but there are still only 2 sexes - and they are God's invention. God created the animals male and female, some exceptions noted. Even some plants have two complementary sexes. When He came to human beings He refined this concept...in ways we should be able to appreciate! We've been studying the book of Genesis. It starts with that famous, linear account of Creation, day by day; then in Chapter 2 we get a "flashback" to fill in details about us. That's where we are now, as Pastor Jim begins a sermon called God Created Man and Woman.

The Subtle Serpent Said

When a snake talked, he spoke with a forked tongue. The world as it is demands an explanation. Either the Creator is defective, as the Gnostics taught, or something happened after the perfect God created His "very good" world. There is a twist - a serpentine twist - to the tale. Then the question becomes, is this story plausible, or is it just a story? Pastor Jim will give us some background on a snake who was not like the ones we see today. His message is called, The Subtle Serpent Said.

Eve: The Mother Of Us All

Today we bring a message from your great grandmother. Well, your great, great, great, great, great, great.... The first woman, Eve, lived a life of unimaginable joy, and profound sorrow. If she could speak to us, she would surely have some wisdom to pass along. And in a way, she can get her message to us - through all the years and generations - in the pages of Scripture. In our review of the book of origins, Genesis, Pastor Jim will bring us a new sermon called, Eve: The Mother of us All. Let's learn from Eve's mistakes, and also from her hope, and faith. We'll be in Genesis 3, with Jim.

For Our Sake

Eve had tested God's words scientifically, empirically, and found them to be false. Or so she and Adam thought. Hope you had a great Christmas. As you can tell, we're getting right back into our Genesis series today. Adam and Eve were having a wonderful afternoon. They had trusted their own senses and were still standing. God was wrong, the snake was right, and they must have been feeling very godlike. Until the day began to cool, and they heard footsteps. Here's Pastor Jim in Genesis, chapter 3.

What It Means To Be Lost

When Christians talk about people being "lost," what do we mean? If we want to know why the world is as it is, and why the word "human" is a synonym for "error-prone," we have to dig in to the third chapter of Genesis. So we'll go back there today to look at it from a new angle: What is this thing called sin? How did it get here? And what did it do to us, today, before we even knew about it? Jim will deal with this deep theological subject in a practical way; using experiences and feelings we can all relate to.
