What's the agenda for this meeting? The purpose of the transfiguration of Christ on the mountain was clear: to reveal to Peter, James and John the true nature of their Lord. It was a way to open their eyes to reality. But Jesus would gain something from this event, as well. That seems to be why Moses and Elijah were invited to the meeting.
