What is the most basic truth of all? With apologies to M. Descartes, the most fundamental fact is not that you exist, or that I exist, but that God exists. "In the beginning, God....." And He exists in a different, more true or more complete way than the way we exist; our lives depend on Him, while His life depends on no one. Without this fundamental truth we won't get off to a "right start" at all.
