If we're "doing our best" to "be good," just consider: anyone can do that! Any atheist, Muslim, animist - fill in the blank - can try to behave well according to his own lights. And Christians do have better lights, but that isn't the core difference between followers of Jesus, and others. There's something more fundamental, more powerful, that can carry us to a different destination. But, to tap into that power we'll have to stop thinking like everyone else.
