We depend on God for every bite of food - but many haven't figured that out, yet. In the wilderness the children of Israel were reminded every day that they had food in their tummies because God wanted it so. And if this was true of the manna, it was also true of water, and breath. We live by God's decision, and word. That's total dependency! And there was something deeper that the manna taught, as well.
