Neil Armstrong was not the first human to set foot on a new world - that was Noah, when he stepped off the ark. The Earth had been cleansed of its sin. It was a chance for man to start over. And God was going to lay down some new ground rules, with new promises. There was a new command, new conditions on the planet, and a new covenant. The Abrahamic covenant was still in the future. Here God spoke to the whole human race. Yes, the human race couldn't have fielded a baseball team, but that doesn't diminish the importance of the Lord's words.
