Is justice good? If justice is good, then hell is good. Hell is justice, God's offer through the Cross is mercy - and proud man says, "I want neither of those." And he imagines alternatives. The Christian doctrine of hell is under assault today, but actually that's nothing new. Flattering lies about the consequences of sin - or lack thereof - go all the way back to the Garden.
