Zechariah may have asked a dumb question, but I'm glad he did! We all know what a menorah looks like: it's that 7-branched oil lamp used in the temple. So Zechariah, the priest, might have known one when he saw one. But in his fourth vision he saw a very weird lampstand connected to a bowl connected to olive trees, and he had to ask the angel, "What are these, my lord?" Yes, I'd like to know that, too.
