We're to know the "times and the seasons" of the Lord's return, but we can't know "the day or the hour." Is that a contradiction? Jesus "told us everything in advance" so we wouldn't be anxious or confused at the unparalleled events that will mark the end of the current world system. In explaining these things He said we would need understanding, discernment, and above all, we'll need to "be on the alert."
