Some wanted to worship the baby Jesus, one wanted to kill Him, and some were just saying, "Meh." By the time Jesus was a toddler, people were already rejecting Him - with Herod even plotting to kill Him. Those who really didn't seem to care one way or the other - the Priests and the Scribes - would come to hate Him later, when He exposed their hypocrisy.
