In Ezekiel 38:1-8 God promises to raise up 'Gog' and use him to lead an invading army into the mountains of Israel 'in the latter days' and destroy this army (Ezekiel 39:1) in defense of Israel.  Is this 'revival of Russia' in our day evidence of God's preparation of Russia to fulfill this end times attack against regathered Israel in her land?  I think so.  We are living in significant times.  God is preparing to fulfill His promises to the descendents of Abraham and bring His Messiah back to earth to 'rule the nations with a rod of iron' - just like He promised.  Exciting!
