We're all jonesing for approval. Jesus told us to beware the quick fix! As social beings, we need feedback from others. Only sociopaths really don't care at all what anyone thinks about them. But we have to be careful where we seek our applause. If we want to hear that "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" one day, we'll be giving up some praise from our fellow humans now.
