If we really believed Jesus, we would end up wounded and penniless - and late for everything! That's our fear. Let's just say it: Turning the other cheek and going the extra mile and generally obeying the Lord's instructions in Matthew 5 would have dire consequences. Wouldn't it? We would certainly have to lay down some of our "rights" and start thinking more about the glory of God. That's the briar patch that Jim asked to be thrown into on Friday, and today it gets even thornier.
