Watching Jesus Finish His Mission

The Lion Roars

Scoffers demand, "Why doesn't God do something about evil and injustice?" Oh, He's getting to that. God gave humans the title deed to this planet. So in order to rebuild it, a Man will have to authorize the work. And not just any man - one who meets all the qualifications. One who is "worthy." We've been watching the scene in heaven as John describes it in the Revelation. We'll see the famous "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" today. But first Jim will help us understand the legal question. "Who is worthy?"

Trumpets And Woes

What does it look like when God goes to war? The seven trumpets of Revelation aren't playing swing tunes. They're sounding calls to battle: the Almighty at war with our corrupt planet. And it is devastating. Everything mankind had relied on in place of God is shifting, crumbling and falling. This is the nightmarish scene we'll look upon today in our study of Revelation. When it's all over, God will be vindicated as completely just, and perfectly merciful

The Days Of The 7th Trumpet

Past, Present and Future are not an endless circle, as some believe. Nor are we just wandering aimlessly through time. This train is on track, and it has a destination. When the 7th Trumpet sounds, the game's over. The clock has run down to zero. No one will be able to accuse God of dawdling any more! Jesus will return at last to take the throne. In our series through Revelation we're ready for this "pause," as I called it, this "interruption," between the 6th and 7th Trumpets.

The Two Witnesses

Would it surprise you to learn that the Jewish temple could be rebuilt - on its proper site - today? In Revelation, chapter 11 John is told to measure the temple and the altar, as they will exist during the Tribulation. And Jim notes something specific in the text: foreign ownership of much of the temple mount. The city of Jerusalem must be "trampled" by the Gentiles for three-and-a-half years. If you're new to this series, Pastor Jim will help you get your bearings as we're all Watching Jesus Finish His Mission.

The Epic Battle

"Seventy weeks have been decreed...", wrote Daniel the prophet. The "70 weeks of Daniel" is God's prophetic timeline, with a promise: "...to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place." The last "week," or 7-year period, is different, but Pastor Jim will contend that it's still exactly 7 years. And as we begin today, Jim's holding up something that looks like a yardstick.
